Sri Lankan Government Site Hacked

A Pakistani hacker (or hackers) calling himself H4x0r HuSsY recently defaced the official Web site of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Mass Media and Information.

“The hackers … uploaded a link to an Australian Broadcasting Corp report on atrocities during the final stages of Sri Lanka’s battle against separatist Tamil Tiger rebels in 2009 … ‘Stop Killing Innocent Tamil Ppl! Or Get prepared 4 Attacks From Us!’ read a message left on the website,,” AFP reports. “An official in the Mass Media and Information Ministry said the website had been ‘reclaimed’ on Monday morning.”

“Several websites owned by the Sri Lankan government have been breached over the past couple of months,” writes Softpedia’s Eduard Kovacs. “On February 19, the same Pakistani hacker defaced the sites of the Inventors Commission, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Ministry of Child Development and Women’s Affairs.”
