Company Description
Ivanti was founded as Landesk in 1985 and is privately held. The company has been on an acquisition path of late. Following acquisitions of Shavlik, Wavelink, Xtraction Solutions and AppSense, Landesk merged with Heat Software to form Ivanti in 2017. Heat software, in turn, was created in 2015 when Lumension and FrontRange merged.

Ivanti Patch for Endpoint Manager, powered by Landesk: provides patch management within Ivanti’s Unified Endpoint Management platform. It supports Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac and an extensive third party catalog of software updates.
Microsoft System Center Add-On – Ivanti Patch for Microsoft System Center, powered by Shavlik: This add-on extends the value of Microsoft System Center by providing a large catalog of non-Microsoft application support. Tens of thousands of versions of common software found on a network can be identified and updated by SCCM. Patch for SCCM also allows editing of Ivanti third-party update packages, allowing users to customize each package to meet any special needs. They can pull in additional catalogs like the driver catalogs from Dell, HP, Levovo, and others to bypass the need to manage these large catalogs through SCUP (System Center Updates Publisher).
Additionally, there are Ivanti Patch for Windows, powered by Shavlik, and Patch for Linux, Unix, Mac, Powered by Heat. These are more lightweight solutions that can be up and running in under an hour. Ivanti Patch for Windows includes integration with VMware vSphere to manage hypervisor patching as well as patching of offline VMs and templates.

All Ivanti Patch Management solutions have an agent. Agents can be deployed by direct deployment or packaged up and delivered through other means such as GPO, install scripts, and software deployment. In the case of Ivanti Patch for Windows, there is an agentless option available.

Ivanti standalone solutions are priced at $65 per server or $30 per workstation. The integrated solutions for Ivanti Patch for SCCM or Ivanti Patch for Endpoint Manager are content subscriptions starting at $9 per endpoint for perpetual or $5 per endpoint for subscription. Price tiers, vertical discounts, etc., may apply and will vary based on channelpartner discounts and other factors.
