Windows Admin Center(WAC)の脆弱性により、認証済みの攻撃者が企業環境で権限を昇格できる可能性がある。

この問題はWACバージョン2.6.4に影響し、CVSSスコアは8.8と評価されている。

Microsoftは勧告で「Windows Admin Centerの不適切な認証により、認証済みの攻撃者がネットワーク経由で権限を昇格できる」と述べた。

Windows Admin Centerの脆弱性の仕組み

Windows Admin Centerは、Windows Server環境、仮想マシン、フェールオーバークラスター、その他の中核インフラサービス向けの集中管理プラットフォームとして機能する。

多くの組織では、単一のインターフェースから複数のシステムを幅広く可視化・制御できるよう、管理者に提供されている。

Windows Admin Centerは通常、高い管理者権限で動作するため、プラットフォーム内の脆弱性は単一のホストを超えた影響を及ぼす可能性がある。

CVE-2026-26119は、Windows Admin Centerを通じて管理される環境で権限昇格につながる潜在的な経路を生み出し、この懸念を浮き彫りにしている。

この脆弱性により、すでにシステムへの限定的かつ認証済みのアクセス権を持つ攻撃者が、追加のユーザー操作を必要とせず、ネットワーク経由で権限を昇格できる可能性がある。

悪用された場合、攻撃者はWindows Admin Centerを実行しているアカウントと同じレベルのアクセス権を取得できる。多くの企業環境では、そのアカウントが複数の管理対象サーバーに対する管理者権限を持っている。

このレベルの制御権を得た攻撃者は、システム構成の変更、特権アカウントの作成や変更、セキュリティ制御の無効化、企業の機密データへのアクセス、ネットワーク内での横展開を実行できる。

本稿の公開時点で、Microsoftは実環境での悪用を確認していない。

Windows Admin Centerのセキュリティ強化

Windows Admin Centerを利用する組織は、権限昇格の脆弱性に伴うリスクを低減するため、実践的な対策を講じるべきだ。

  • パッチを適用最新バージョンのWindows Admin Centerにし、すべてのインスタンスで正常に展開されたことを確認する。
  • 最小権限を徹底し、常時付与されている管理者権限を削除するとともに、ジャストインタイムおよび必要最小限の管理制御を導入する。
  • すべてのアカウントに多要素認証を必須とするとともに、Windows Admin Centerにアクセスするアカウントの認証情報管理を強化する。
  • 管理インターフェースをセグメント化してネットワークへの露出を制限し、インターネットからのアクセスを排除し、接続をVPNまたはゼロトラストの制御を通じて制限する。
  • Windows Admin Centerのホストシステムを強化し、OSレベルのセキュリティベースラインを適用して不要なサービスを無効化する。
  • 強化されたログ記録と継続的な監視を有効にし、異常な認証活動、権限昇格、横展開の試みを検知する。
  • インシデント対応計画をテストし、管理プラットフォームが関与する権限昇格事案向けのプレイブックを整備する。

これらの対策を総合的に講じることで、攻撃にさらされるリスクを低減し、全体的なレジリエンスを強化できる。

認証の脆弱性を軽視してはならない

実環境での悪用は報告されていないものの、CVE-2026-26119は、高い権限で動作する集中管理ツールのセキュリティ確保が重要であることを示している。

Windows Admin Centerは企業環境全体を幅広く制御できることが多いため、認証の脆弱性が1つあるだけでも、対処されなければリスクが高まる可能性がある。

こうした脆弱性は、組織がゼロトラストソリューションを活用して重要な管理システムへのアクセスをより適切に制御し、認証情報を悪用した攻撃の影響を抑えようとしている理由を裏付けている。
