Details are scarce on this very young breach and attack simulation startup, but its technology looks promising. CyCognito prioritizes potential attacks based on which look easiest from a hacker's perspective, and it can analyze both known and unknown network assets. The cloud-based solution also looks to be among the easiest to deploy.
Palo Alto, California
One of the newest BAS startups, CyCognito does not provide very much information about its services or company on its website. It is headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley and has an office in Tel Aviv, Israel. Its founders are Rob Gurzeev and Dima Potekhin, both of whom have extensive experience in offensive security.
While many BAS tools rely on agents, CyCognito is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool that requires no deployment, integration or configuration. It continuously scans networks in real time, analyzing both known and unknown network assets to look for vulnerabilities. It looks for the attack of least resistance, the path that will be most attractive to hackers. It also includes triage abilities to prioritizing potential threats and offers remediation suggestions.
