Good Technology this week announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the privately-held secure mobile collaboration company Copiun Inc.

"Copiun co-founder and CEO, Puneesh Chaudhry, will join Good Technology’s leadership team, overseeing the TrustedShare product line," writes ITWire's Peter Dinham. "Under the deal, Copiun personnel will become full-time employees of Good Technology and the Copiun headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts in the United States will become a Good Technology office."

"Copiun’s staple product, TrustedShare, is a multi-layered solution with end-to-end governance, one of the first of its kind," writes BostInno's Nick DeLuca. "It features robust policy management, trusted app data sharing, data loss prevention, and auditing and reporting."

"Companies like Good have been trying to capitalize on the BYOD trend by providing mobile device management software and the like, but a security suite will round out the functionality," Infosecurity reports. "Copiun’s software suite allows mobile users to securely access shared files without a VPN connection or firewall configuration -- a perfect fit for BYOD."

"Our mission at Good Technology is to deliver the best mobile enterprise app experience for the widest range of devices and platforms so our customers can securely collaborate and be more productive," Good Technology president and CEO King Lee said in a statement. "Our acquisition of Copiun will accelerate and enhance our ability to provide customers with more high-value, business productivity capabilities that incorporate our commitment to data security."

"The acquisition is set to be completed by this month, with Good Technology refusing to disclose the value of the acquisition," writes ZDNet's Spandas Lui.
