Anonymous Hackers Hit Brazilian Banks

Members of Anonymous recently targeted four banks in Brazil.

“The Brazilian branch of Anonymous has attacked the web sites of four major banks in Brazil in protest over economic inequality in the country,” writes The Inquirer’s Chris Martin. “Bradesco, Itau, Banco do Brasil and HSBC have been attacked but not with the aim to defraud customers, according to Agence France Presse.”

“However, Banco do Brazil denied the attack on Twitter and said, ‘Bank of Brazil has peaks in the volume of traffic to the site, with moments of sluggishness. This fact does not compromise the security of data,'” Martin writes.
