TD’s Canadian Twitter feed posted the following message this morning: “We are currently experiencing a service interruption & are working to restore services. For your banking needs, call EasyLine 1-866-222-3456.”
Nguyen reports that TD Bank spokeswoman Barbara Timmins said no customer information was exposed, and that most services are now up and running, though business customers may still have trouble accessing their online accounts.
“We will work diligently to get service restored,” Timmins said. “This was a service disruption issue. There was no compromise to customer data.”
Timmins told The Toronto Star’s Michael Lewis that TD’s ATMs, its Easy Line telephone banking service, its Internet brokerage WebBroker and its branch functions were not affected.
The Huffington Post Canada reports that customers in both Canada and the U.S. appear to have been impacted by the attack.
