According to a recent report from the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), Europe's maritime sector has extremely limited awareness of cyber security.

"The shipping industry, which carried 52 per cent of goods traffic in 2010, has 'currently low to non-existent' awareness of cyber security needs and challenges, the report said," writes IT PRO's Tom Brewster.

"ENISA considered the maritime sector to be one of Europe's critical infrastructure industries, saying the continent was 'critically dependent' on the movement of cargo and passengers over sea," Brewster writes.
