The London Evening Standard reports that an unidentified 16-year-old has been arrested over his alleged involvement in a large-scale DDoS attack against Spamhaus in March 2013 (h/t Sophos).

The arrest took place in April 2013, but was kept secret until the information was recently leaked to the Evening Standard. The teen has been released on bail until his trial later this year.

A briefing document on the investigation, named Operation Rashlike, states, "The suspect was found with his computer systems open and logged on to various virtual systems and forums. The subject has a significant amount of money flowing through his bank account. Financial investigators are in the process of restraining monies."

A 35-year-old Dutchman, Sven Olaf Kamphuis, was arrested in Spain in April 2013 for his alleged involvement in the same attack.
