A Nasuni white paper, entitled Understanding Security in Cloud Storage, examines the key security risks inherent in cloud storage solutions, as well as the methods that can be used to mitigate those risks.

"Many businesses that would benefit significantly from using the cloud are holding back because of data leakage fears," the white paper states. "The cloud is a multi-tenant environment, where resources are shared. It is also an outside party, with the potential to access a customer's data. Sharing hardware and placing data in the hands of a vendor seem, intuitively, to be risky."
