Forum Systems and parent company Crosscheck Networks have released a white paper, entitled Strategies for Securing Enterprise-to-Cloud Communication, which looks at the security implications of REST- and SOAP-based communication between consumers and cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers.

"Cloud application security requires extending risk planning and analysis beyond corporate boundaries," the white paper advises. "Enterprises that are already comfortable with deploying applications in the DMZ for deep integration with external trading partner have already laid the foundations for interacting securely with IaaS cloud providers."
