IT Security Salaries on the Rise
The "2011 IT Salary Guide" demonstrates that System Security Admin salaries are trending upward.
Our colleagues at Datamation recently put together their annual guide to IT salaries. The 2011 IT Salary Guide shows that IT security pros are in demand, as usual, and commanding slightly increased rates of pay over last year.
Security is always hot--or so says Datamation's James Maguire, creator of the annual IT Salary Guide--and, of course he has the figures to back it up. System Security Admins saw a healthy 4% increase in base rate of pay over the year before. Not an earth-shattering rise, but better than the 2.5% IT managers are seeing and the 2.8% doled out to IT project managers.
Of course, given last year's dip, on the whole net gains are uncommon, but in this economy, any increase is a good sign.
More specifics about Systems Security Administrator compensation in the U.S., including regional numbers and year-over-year comparisons, are available at Datamation.
A list of all the IT jobs included in the salary guide is also available.
