IT Security Salaries Dropping
New data shows a slight dip in salary and compensation packages for IT managers in the security field.
As is to be expected during a recession, salaries for IT managers have dipped along with the rest of the economy. Our colleagues at Datamation have published data from two sources, which shows a slight downturn in salaries and compensation in a variety of IT fields.
According to Janco, Inc, professionals work in the IT Manager - Security and Workstations category had an average base salary of base salary: $89,314 in 2009 and total compensation: $93,547. This year (2010), the average base salary dropped by 1.77% to $87,779 with total compensation falling to: $91,894.
