The latest in viruses is W32.HLLW.GOP.F@mm, a mass-mailing worm that uses Microsoft Outlook to send itself to all contacts in Outlook Address Book, according to Symantec.

The subject line and the message are both comprised of Chinese characters. The attachment name is photo.gif.exe. It may spread through network shares.

This worm steals OICQ login information, such as the username and password. It sends the stolen information to the hacker's email addresses. OICQ is a Chinese version of ICQ.

This threat is written in the Borland Delphi programming language and is compressed with ASPack. For more information visit this Symantec page.

Klez.I Carnage Continues

Klez.I was the most active virus around for the month of December, according to data compiled from Panda ActiveScan. This particularly virulent malicious code was detected in more than 12% of positive cases.
