Rainfinity Works on Reliability for ISA Server
Rainfinity this week announced a new version of its RainConnect load balancing software that now works with Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000 firewall and Web cache server.
The new version is designed to run directly on the ISA Server, which, in turn, can be connected to two or more Internet Service Providers. RainConnect distributes traffic among the ISP links and prevents outages by routing traffic around any failed links.
Rainfinity says the combination of ISA Server and RainConnect software can save money for customers by eliminating the need for external, hardware-based load balancers and by reducing network management complexity.
In addition to ISA Server, RainConnect works with other firewalls and virtual private network software, providing improved performance by distributing traffic among multiple Internet links and increased reliability with its ability to route around failed links.
