The new version is intended to provide an early warning system for unauthorized access and misuse detection that complements existing security and intrusion detection infrastructures.
ManTrap 3.0 has been enhanced to include "Session Watch," which allows organizations to visually monitor an attacker's activities keystroke by keystroke, in real-time, or via recorded sessions for future replay and analysis.
The software extends an organization's intrusion detection investment by reducing false positives, enabling effective incident analysis, trending and reporting that can be used to prevent both internal and external attacks.
ManTrap 3.0 can be implemented as a stand-alone solution or as an extension to ManHunt 2.0, enabling organizations to monitor and track intrusion activities in real-time.
By deploying ManTrap, enterprises can easily identify an intruder, safely monitor their actions or terminate the session immediately. All intrusion information is captured by ManTrap so both the actual attack and the attacker's apparent motivations and methods can be analyzed. ManTrap uncovers the methods and motives of the attacker, allowing organizations to take the appropriate actions to prevent against future attacks.
'Zero Day' Protection
Because of its sophisticated early warning system, ManTrap can successfully detect and protect against "Zero Day" threats -- threats that have not been publicly identified or named -- without requiring prior knowledge of attacks.
ManTrap 3.0 also has a Policy-Based Response. This can provide IT administrators the detailed information required to respond effectively to a specific attack.
Automated responses include alerts via email or SNMP, and/or handoff to Recourse's ManHunt for track-back or customized responses for specific attack mitigation.
ManHunt, a complementary product, provides high-speed attack detection at network speeds of up to 2.0 + Gbps in software with up to four Gigabit interfaces per node, allowing implementation at virtually any level within an organization. By combining hybrid detection with focused analysis to identify malicious traffic, ManHunt is able to maintain 100% of its detection capability on gigabit networks.
ManHunt 2.1, just released, includes several new features and enhancements for detecting, analyzing and responding to network threats including support for NetScreen's integrated security solutions, router protocol attack detection and high availability configuration options.
ManTrap pricing begins at $7,500. The product must be hosted on Sun Ultra 5 or greater, Sun Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) certified or Intel Pentium II or greater.
