CyberSource has released its sixth annual UK Online Fraud Report, which finds that one third of businesses in the UK are seeing an annual increase in the percentage of online revenue lost to fraud, with an average of £400,000 in lost revenue per business in 2009.

"One of the most dramatic changes over the years has been the increased awareness and concern about the theft of customer data," the report states. "In 2007, just 6 percent of merchants ranked it as a serious threat -- over the past two years this figure has jumped to over half of merchants."
