Symantec recently launched a free security solution for Android devices.

"Called Norton Mobile Security Lite, the new offering automatically scans all files and app updates for malware and allows users to remotely lock their devices by sending text messages to them," writes Softpedia's Lucian Constantin. "The application features automatic updates which is a must for any antivirus product and allows users to stay protected from the latest threats."

"As the name implies, Norton Mobile Security Lite is a lighter version of Norton Mobile Security, a commercial product that also features remote location, remote wiping, call blocking and web protection," Constantin writes.
