The jury in the trial of David C. Kernell, accused of hacking into Sarah Palin's Yahoo! email account in 2008, is deadlocked on one of the four charges.

"The Knoxville News Sentinel reported... that the jury, which is in its third day of deliberations, has deadlocked on the first count, a charge of identity theft," writes Computerworld's Gregg Keizer.

"The jury has reached a verdict on the other three charges -- wire fraud, unlawfully obtaining information from a protected computer, and destruction of records to hamper a federal investigation," Keizer writes. "All but the unlawfully accessing count are felonies under federal law."
