Researchers at 2X Software have uncovered a 10-year-old Windows flaw that can cause a system to crash.

"The denial-of-service condition can result if a user is tricked into running an application that contains the malicious code," writes SC Magazine's Dan Kaplan.

"The vulnerability... is present in all versions of the Microsoft operating system dating back to Windows 2000," Kaplan writes.
