Indian outsourcing company Wipro is investigating the alleged embezzlement of $4 million by an employee who had obtained a colleague's password.
"The fraud, which was detected in December, had been going on for about a year, although the company has been able to recover half of the money," writes Computerworld's John Ribeiro.
"Wipro described the fraud as an 'information security breach' on account of 'human intervention,'" Ribeiro writes. "The company will continue to tighten its processes to prevent the misuse of passwords."
