The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) has announced plans to simulate a series of cyber attacks, in order to assess how well banks, payment processors and retailers handle the threats.

"The... event is scheduled for February 9 through 11, 2010," writes InformationWeek's Thomas Claburn. "Participants will be expected to activate their incident response procedures in accordance with the scenario presented and to complete an anonymous survey to evaluate their organization's response."

"The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) said in November that the FBI had seen a significant increase in online banking fraud," Claburn writes.
