A New Zealand-based spammer has been fined $210,000 in a case brought by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) in the Federal Court of Brisbane.

"Lance Thomas Atkinson was found by the court to have sent more than 100,000 unsolicited spam e-mails to Australians advertising 'herbal products, watches and other items,'" writes Network World's Trevor Clarke.

"Atkinson has been ordered not to send to be involved in the sending of unsolicited e-mails for seven years," Clarke writes.
