Motorola AirDefense has found that while Wi-Fi security in UK retails environments is improving, it remains surprisingly weak.
"A Wi-Fi war walk, passively detecting Wi-Fi networks in a popular shopping [area] around Oxford Circus last week, revealed numerous problems," writes The Register's John Leyden. "Data was collected over a one hour period on 16 December."
"A quarter of the networks (25 percent) detected were set up without any encryption, while a further 21 percent were protected only by easily breakable WEP encryption," Leyden writes.
