VeriSign has been selected as the provider of security and authentication for Microsofts Windows Azure platform.
VerSign secure sockets layer (SSN) certificates and VeriSign code signing certificates will allow Microsoft to safeguard cloud-based services and applications developed and deployed on the Windows Azure platform, writes Network Worlds Anuradha Shukla.
According to VeriSign officials, developers of Windows Azure applications can sign their code with VeriSign code signing certificates, Shukla writes. Once it is done, end-users are signaled that the applications come from a trusted publisher.
