Syrian Electronic Army Hackers Hit U.K.'s Channel 4
The breached Web site was using an outdated and vulnerable version of WordPress from April of 2011.
The defacement was simple -- the hackers simply added the phrase, "Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army" to the site.
They then tweeted, "#SEA hacks Channel 4 blog, but they hired an admin to stay up all night to try and stop us."
According to E Hacking News, the Syrian Electronic Army found that Channel 4's blogs site was using Wordpress 3.1.2, an outdated and vulnerable version of WordPress from April of 2011, which provided the hackers with access to the site.
