Game company Konami, known for such titles as Metal Gear Solid and Dance Dance Revolution, recently asked its Japanese users to change their passwords following a security breach (h/t TechNewsDaily).

According to a notice on the company's Web site, 35,252 unauthorized logins were recorded between June 13, 2013 and July 7, 2013, following 3,945,927 login attempts.

The company says customer names, mailing addresses, birthdates, genders, phone numbers and e-mail addresses may have been accessed.

While there's no evidence that the two attacks were linked, the breach is similar to a recent breach of 29,926 Club Nintento accounts following 15,457,485 login attempts between June 9, 2013 and July 4, 2013.
